Everything about Discalceation totally explained

Discalceation is a word that means "removal of footwear". It is also the name of a ritual used by members of Masonic Lodges, wherein they remove one shoe during their initiations. The masonic ritual is alleged to derive from an ancient Jewish practice mentioned in the Biblical Book of Ruth. St. Teresa of Ávila was one of a number of saints of the Roman Catholic Church who were "discalced", or shoeless. She was one of the founders of the Discalced Carmelites religious order.
